For the Cake
- 2 cups 7star Cake flour
- 1 cup pitted dates, chopped
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup milk
For the Caramel Topping
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
How to Make
Preparing the Cake
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the chopped dates, boiling water, and baking soda. Stir to combine and let sit for 10 minutes.
- In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
- Add the 7 Star Cake flour to the butter mixture, alternating with the honey and milk. Mix until just combined.
- Add the date mixture to the flour mixture and stir until evenly combined.
