Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups 7 Star Fiber Plus Flour – divided into 1 cup and 1.5 cups
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons yoghurt
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup oil
  • 1 egg whisked at room temperature
  • 120-150 g cheese
  • 1 egg whisked at room temperature
  • ½ tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • ¼ cup honey or sugar syrup

How to Make

  1. Preheat your oven to 190°C.
  2. Mix warm water and yeast in a bowl and wait 2 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, add 1 cup of flour, the yeast mixture, yoghurt, and sugar. Mix well and cover with plastic wrap. Wait 10 minutes to proof.
  4. Cut the block of cheese into cubes.
  5. After 10 minutes, add the remaining flour (1.5 cups), oil, and salt to the bowl. Mix well with a spoon, then use your hands to knead for a few minutes until a soft and slightly sticky dough forms.
  6. Divide the dough into equal-sized balls (roughly 45g each). Flatten each ball and place a cheese cube in the middle, then close it up.
  7. Place the stuffed dough balls on a greased and floured pan, leaving space around them.
  8. Brush the balls with egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds on top if desired.
  9. Bake for 25 minutes, then broil for a few minutes until golden brown.
  10. Brush honey or sugar syrup on top when they come out of the oven.
