The below tutorial will guide you on how to make the perfect homemade pasta with 7 Star Semolina, using natural colouring for the rainbow shades. Get your work surface and pasta machine ready for some colour and fun!

Ingredients

  • 7 Star Semolina
  • Water

Red pasta

  • Boiled beetroot – 1
  • Boiled carrot –

Orange pasta

  • Boiled carrot – 1

Yellow pasta

  • Turmeric powder – 1 teaspoon

Green pasta

  • Spinach leaves – 1 cup

Method

  • Please note that the semolina to water quantities should be 2:1
  • Mix the 7 Star Semolina and water and knead it until a dough is formed, wrap it and let it rest. However, this is the basic pasta recipe without colour. Therefore, if you wish to splash some of your favourite shades on your pasta in natural form, we’ve got you covered.

Red pasta

  • Blend the boiled beetroot and carrot and add them to the semolina and water mixture. Knead the dough until it is in perfect form. If your dough is too wet, add some more semolina, and if it is too dry, add some water.
  • Leave the dough to rest.

Orange pasta

  • Blend the boiled carrot and add it to the semolina and water mixture. Knead the dough until it is in perfect form. If your dough is too wet, add some more semolina, and if it is too dry, add some water.
  • Leave the dough to rest.

Yellow pasta

  • Mix the turmeric, semolina and water. Knead the dough until it is in perfect form. If your dough is too wet, add some more semolina, and if it is too dry, add some water.
  • Leave the dough to rest.

Green pasta

  • Blend the spinach and add it to the semolina and water mixture. Knead the dough until it is in perfect form. If your dough is too wet, add some more semolina, and if it is too dry, add some water.
  • Leave the dough to rest.

  • Once the multicoloured doughs have been resting for approximately 30 minutes, roll them out until they can be fed into a pasta machine on level 0.
  • Cut the pasta sheets into long strips with a knife or pasta machine and cook up a colourful meal for your family.
