Easy Chicken Dumplings

Tired of eating the same old dishes day in and day out? Well, you don’t have to anymore because we’ve brought to you a simple recipe that strays away from the norm. Yes, take a look at this amazing recipe for chicken dumplings that’s both simple and easy to make at home!

Ingredients

Dumpling Dough

  • 500g 7 Star All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • 2 teaspoons salt

Method:

  1. Mix salt and flour with warm water.
  2. Knead the dough for 10-15 minutes.
  3. When the dough loses its stickiness, cover it with a damp towel and leave it to sit for about 30 minutes.
  4. Knead the dough once again on a well-floured surface and divide it into 24 equal parts. Roll the dough into balls and flatten and roll them repeatedly until you get them nice and thin.
  5. Add your filling in the centre and wrap as desired.
  6. Once done, place your dumplings on a pan with sesame oil and fry them well until golden brown.
  7. Add water into the same pan and cover to cook.
  8. Once done garnish with spring onions and serve your dumplings with sauce.

Ingredients

Filling & Sauce

  • 1 ½ cups minced abalone mushrooms
  • 1 cup chopped carrots
  • 300g minced chicken
  • ½ cup chopped red cabbage
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 ½ cups minced spring onions
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup (as required) sesame oil/ gingerly oil
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped ginger
  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar/ rice vinegar

Method (filling):

  1. Saute your choice of mushrooms and carrots. Add in some chopped spring onions, chopped garlic, ginger, and red cabbage.
  2. Add the minced chicken or meat of your choice into the mix next. Add soy sauce, salt, and black pepper as well as sesame oil and cook.

Method (sauce):

  1. Add ¾ cups soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, and 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar along with spring onions. Mix well and your sauce is ready.
